Artistic Direction and Theatre Directing
As founder and artistic director of social enterprise 'Project Dare' and charity 'Ldn Dares Drama Co' Ursula leads the organisation that applies theatre and performance programmes that support individuals and communities with confidence and mental health recovery, and direct productions which pack political and social punch.
Theatre Making
With a BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Practice (FIRST) from CASS school of Art, and a MERIT in Theatre and Performance (Acting) from Birmingham Theatre School, Ursula devises, writes and performs acts that highlight social, economical and environmental injustices; often under the alias, 'Ursula Dares'.
Solo Show RIOT!!
Coming in 2023 is Ursula's debut solo show RIOT!
The piece is a drama-cabaret exploring women's perspectives on surviving state sanctioned oppression.
The play takes inspiration from historical events, character comedy, and autobiographical stories. It's humour with a serious message about what it's like to be a white working class woman in today's culture. Ursula's characters endeavour to bring about environmental justice whilst keeping a roof over their heads and being at the mercy of the police.
Body Confidence Coaching
Ursula's background as founder and CEO of social enterprise 'Project Dare' means she has supported over 1300 people with confidence to become 'unstuck' and move forward to have more fulfilling lives. Ursula is particularly skilled in creating a safe space and working with people who are anxious, self-critical, feeling stressed, or who may be in a period of mental health recovery. Ursula's certificate in 'Body Confidence and Well-Being Coaching' is accredited by the Institute for Body Confidence Coaching (IBCC). Ursula has studied both applied neuro-science of coaching, and neuro-science of confidence with International Teaching Seminars.
